Some of Thursday's Bryant hearing to be closed
Wednesday, May 26, 2004 - A portion of Thursday's pretrial hearing in the Kobe Bryant sexual assault case will take place behind closed doors, State District Judge Terry Ruckriegle has decided. Prosecutors requested the closed hearing.
Bryant's attorneys are trying to find out whether any money from the state's Crime Victim Compensation Fund was used to pay expenses for his alleged victim at a rehabilitation center in Arizona.
Bryant is accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old employee at an Edwards resort last summer.
He's expected to attend the hearing in Eagle, then return to Los Angeles for a playoff game against Minnesota.
